What this site collects
Major Labs is run by one person, Charlie Major. This page lists what the site collects, where it goes, and how to have it removed. Last updated September 18, 2026.
The newsletter
If you use the signup form, I collect the email address you type in. Nothing else is asked for. The address is sent to Resend, the email service I use to send Major Labs Weekly, and stored in my Resend audience with a note that it came from this site.
To limit abuse, the signup function counts signup attempts per minute. The counter is keyed by a scrambled, daily-changing fingerprint of the IP address, not the address itself, and counters are deleted after about ten minutes.
The form also contains a hidden field that people never see. If it is filled in, the submission is treated as automated and nothing is stored.
Analytics
I use Google Analytics (GA4) to see which pages get read. Nothing from Google loads unless you choose Accept on the banner: no script, no cookie and no page-view signal. If you choose No thanks, or ignore the banner, your visit is not measured at all.
Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage under the key ml_consent. To change it, clear this site's data in your browser and the banner will ask again.
Advertising storage and ad personalization are always denied. The site carries no ads.
Hosting logs
The site is hosted on Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify processes server logs that include IP addresses and the pages requested, in order to deliver and protect the site.
What I do not do
No advertising. No sale or rental of data. No sharing of the subscriber list with anyone, beyond the email service that sends the newsletter.
Unsubscribe and deletion
Every newsletter email has a one-click unsubscribe link. To have your address deleted, or to ask what I hold about you, email hello@majormatters.co and I will remove it.
